Frozen?  Expensive repairs? This can be avoided.

Yes, Southern Nevada has mild winters however, we typically get one to five nights of below freezing temperatures.  Your exterior spigots and vacuum breakers are vulnerable.

A foam cup or an insulating sock can take care of your spigot for less than $10.

Piping insulation and some form of insulation like a pouch are necessary to protect valves and vacuum breakers. (Insulating pouches are available at Home Depot and other retailers for less than $40)

During our November visits, we pay special attention to this detail to protect your home from an avoidable disaster.

Visit our tips page Item 11 for additional information.

It may be time to replace your air filters?

There is no better time to replace your air filters.  In order to protect your home heating and cooling equipment and to help maintain good air quality, your filters should be change on a regular basis, but how often?  The picture gives you a good hint on when to change your filters.

Do not wait until they get very dirty and start to collapse. At the very minimum, the filters should be changed in between the cooling and heating season to get the best efficiency out of your heating and cooling system. The filters will easily pay for themselves in energy savings.

At Home Watcher LV, only use good quality pleated filters which allow good air flow through your system and collect dust which is something we desperately need in Southern Nevada
