If you have a smart meter and you are under the "Time Of Use" program, your cost in the summer varies from about $0.07 to $0.33 per kilowatt-hour during the peak hours. The time of the day is the key. The peak hours are defined from 1:00pm to 7:00pm. If you are not in this program, your cost is about $0.12 per kilowatt-hour regardless of the time.
If you run a 1.5 HP pool pump for several hours during the day, your cost before 1:00pm is approximately $0.09 per hour but after 1:00pm, it jumps to $0.42 per hour. If you are not under the "Time OF Use" program then your cost would be approximately $0.14 per hour at any time during the day.
